Cursorial Predation Assignment

Dogs are cursorial predators because they have limbs that give them an advantage to run to catch prey. For example, dogs have front legs that help to carry weight while running. Unlike cats, dogs have claws that do not retract. Dog’s claws help to provide traction and balance to help enhance running, while cats use their claws to pounce on prey. Dogs also have strong back legs that help to drive the rest of the body forward while running and jumping. In conclusion, dogs have things such as claws, forelimbs and hindlimbs, that are used as advantages to run towards prey.
